Vasquez Rocks Park, Los Angeles County

I’ve never heard of Vasquez Rocks before arriving here a few days ago. According to its website, Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park features spectacular rock formations and Tataviam Indian sites. The red sandstone rocks in the park were uplifted at a dramatic angle exposing their jagged features. The park is a popular hiking, picnicking, and equestrian area and has been used in many movies, television shows, music videos, and commercials.

We went there on Monday when the beautiful Interpretive Center was closed. Bummer. So we didn’t learned much about other information about the park, its geology, and its trails. Nevertheless, we explored the hiking trails on our own. The park was very nice. If you like walking or climbing up rocks and love desert landscape, I think you’ll like Vasquez Rocks Park. Enjoy the photos below.
